Ever since I was a little girl, I have been wishfully thinking of all the things a little girl could want... And when I wished and worked hard enough, I usually got what I wanted... And here it is... My own studio, to bring my imagination to the real world. |

Here, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is the home of Wishful Thinking Studio. |
My name is Caron Baker-Wike and I've been doing pottery for the past 26 years. I started taking pottery as an art credit in college because I always wanted to find out more about it (and an art credit was required for my degree in business.) It has stuck with me as an enjoyable and relaxing pastime. At first, I was most interested in
wheel-thrown pottery, but, after a few years and many hours hunched
over a potter's wheel, my back wouldn't hold out any longer. I began
(through pain) to see handbuilding as a way to continue with my hobby.
It has been 10 more years now and I am still potting along
handbuilding... |
